Berlin Walking Tours

I offer four Berlin tours: Choose and contact me.

Tour 1. The "Berlin Through the Ages" walking tour.

Tour 2. The "City West" walking tour".

Tour 3. The "Legacy of the Third Reich" walking tour.

Tour 4. Bespoke, tailor-made tours according to the special interest of the visitor. For example, should you wish to visit Frederick the Great's celebrated rococo palace of Sanssouci set within its UNESCO World Heritage-listed park at Potsdam I'll take you there.

Remember, I charge by the hour not by the number of people in the group.

Most visitors to Berlin are keen to see the most important historical sights. If this is you then my "Berlin Through The Ages" tour is what you are looking for. The tour is predominately a walking tour but utilises public transport too. Scroll down for a detailed description.

The "City West" walking tour takes the visitor through the downtown former West Berlin. This intriguing part of the city is much neglected by visitors to Berlin. The tour begins at a Ubahn (Underground railway) station but thereafter is on foot. Scroll down for a detailed description.

The "Legacy of the Third Reich" tour is a multi day tour that combines the "Berlin Through the Ages" tour with travel to more outlying districts and a visit to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. Scroll down for a detailed description.

The attractions of the former downtown West Berlin are very much overlooked. If you would like to have a taste of life of this island in the midst of communism then take my "City West" walking tour.

This tour starts at Adenauer Platz and snakes through the centre of the former downtown West Berlin , ending at Wittenburg Platz. Beginning with Berlin's slimmest office building, only 2.5 meters wide, the tour includes the Europe Centre with its water clock, tourist information centre and over 100 shops, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Ka De We department store, Kufürstendamm, famous for its shopping, Savigny Platz - the bars and cafes here were the meeting places of West Berlin's artists and intellectuals, the Jewish Community Centre, Berlin's Chamber of Commerce and stock exchange, built by Nicholas Grimshaw of Eden Project fame, the Writers club and café. The tour ends at the Elephant Gate of Berlin's world renowned zoo with over 13,000 species.

Duration: Approximately six hours.

There is more to the former West Berlin than meets the eye!
